These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of The Intext website, newsletters and related services. Please read them carefully; by using the site you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using theintext.com (the "Site") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Eligibility

The Site is intended for a general audience. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Definitions

  • "Content" — articles, images, video, audio, data, code and other material published on the Site.
  • "User" — any person who accesses the Site.
  • "We", "us", "our" — The Intext.

All Content on the Site is the property of The Intext or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws. The "The Intext" name and marks are trademarks of The Intext.

Fair quotation. You may quote short excerpts of an article for the purposes of comment, criticism or news reporting, provided you credit The Intext and link to the original story.

7. User-submitted content

When you send us news tips, letters, corrections or other material, you grant The Intext a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, edit, publish and archive that material in connection with our journalism. You warrant that you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe any third-party right.

8. Third-party content, links and embeds

The Site may include links to, and embeds from, third-party services (for example video players, social-media posts, or advertising creatives). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those third parties.

9. Advertising & sponsored content

The Intext displays advertising to support independent journalism. Advertisements are clearly separated from editorial coverage. Any sponsored, branded or paid content is clearly labelled as such. See our Privacy Policy for details on advertising cookies and your controls.

10. Disclaimers

The Site and its Content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Intext disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Our journalism is intended to inform, not to provide professional advice. Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, financial, medical or other professional advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Intext and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Intext and its contributors from any claim, demand, liability, cost or expense arising out of your use of the Site or your breach of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us or third parties.

14. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. The courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after such changes constitutes acceptance.
