  • Contact and press enquiries. When you email us at press@theIntext.com or use the contact page, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe to a newsletter we store the email address you provide and the date of subscription.
  • News tips. If you send us information as a source, we handle it in line with our editorial standards. You can request confidentiality at the point of contact.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Log data. Our hosting infrastructure records standard request logs including IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, pages requested and time-stamps. These are used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic analysis.
  • Device & browser information. Screen size, operating system, browser language and similar attributes, used to render the site correctly.

4. How we use information

  • To operate, maintain and improve the website and our editorial products.
  • To deliver newsletters and respond to correspondence you initiate.
  • To detect, prevent and address technical issues, fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with applicable law and to enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To measure aggregate readership and understand which stories serve readers best.
  • To serve and measure advertising (see Advertising & Google AdSense below).

6. Cookies & similar technologies

We use privacy-respecting analytics to measure aggregate traffic. Analytics data is used in aggregate form to guide editorial decisions and site improvements; it is not used to identify individual readers.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we work continuously to reduce risk.

The Intext operates from Bangladesh, and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.

13. Children's privacy

The Intext is a general news publication and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
